He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Oler and Beulah Marie Hansen (Cheek); and his sister Beverly Louise. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elaine Pitts; his close friend Ruth Elaine; his daughter Sheri Downing (Tim) of Bettendorf, IA; his grandchildren, Heather Hootman (Josh) of Layton, UT and Michael Downing of Bettendorf, IA; his siblings, John "Jack" Hansen and Lois Kucala (Al) of Irvine, CA; his sister-in-law Judy Hansen (John); and his nieces and nephews, Suzanne Anderson (Greg), Kelly Patchett (Ray) of Palm Springs, CA, Chris Hansen (Brenda) of Milan, IL and Doug Hansen (Shara) of Morrison, CO..

Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
