He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Heitzman and Ella Heitzman (Grafelman); and his brothers, Harold, Gerald, Robert and Richard Heitzman.

He is survived by: his wife Peg; his daughters, Laura "Lori" Hipes (Matt) of Ottawa, IL, Robin Hocking (Carl) of Cheyenne, WY and Teresa Mahsem of Wausau, WI; his grandchildren, Andrea, Timothy, Tyler, Ryan and Adam; his great grandchildren, Kai, Niko, Eden, Charli, Dean, Liam and Daisy; and his brother William E. Heitzman.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, or a tree may be planted in Ron's honor.
