He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Tacey and Ruth Tacey (Ahrens); and his sister Sandy Tacey. He is survived by: his wife Linda Tacey; his children, Ronald Tacey Jr. (Lindsay), Michael Tacey (Jenn), Tammy Hogren (Jamie) and Reynolds; his grandchildren, Chloie, Evelyn, Austin and Reese; his great grandchild Grayson; and his sisters, Sharon Bragg (Bill), Luanne Morgan of Davenport and Lorie Cleary (Pat). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be left to the Rock Island Police Benevolent Fund.
