She was predeceased by: her mother Alberta Whitsett; her children, Emmanuel McConnell (Brown), Willie Houston and Octavia Huge; and her siblings, Annie Friday, Abb Brown, John Emmit Mays and James Brown.
She is survived by: her children, James Houston of Rock Island, IL and Martha Nimmers (Earl) of Rock Island, IL; her siblings, Ramson Brown of Scooba, MS, Willie Brown (Maggie), Laura Johnigan (James), Dora Wilson (Eddie), Alberta Hickman and Jessie Brown Pollard; and her grandchildren, Kylan Houston and Latisha Price. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
