Ruth L. Cheek Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth L. Cheek of Rock Island, Illinois, who passed away on October 15, 2022 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilford VanZandbergen and Helen VanZandbergen (Spah); her son Mark Cheek; her brother Donald VanZandbergen; her son-in-law Dennis Stegall; and her close friend Richard Winger.
She is survived by: her husband Wesley Cheek; her daughters, Candace, Candy Walters (Mike) of Bettendorf and Lisa Ockenfels (Roger) of Oxford Junction, Iowa; her daughter-in-law Nadine Cheek of Florida; her grandchildren, Melissa Girten (Damian), Mark Cheek II (Mandy), Terry Walters (Liz), Nick Walters (Autumn), Kelsey Jones (Chad), Amanda Newton (Derek) and Lindsay Payne (Danny); her great grandchildren, Conner, Bryson, Bennett, Alec, Jenna, Jameson, Julia, Emily, Weston, Brooke, Reid, Jackson, Halana, Clayton, Carter, Carsen, Chayse, Crosby, Greysek, Braxton and Cora; and her sister-in-law Evelyn VanZandbergen of Davenport. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
