It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Hartwig of Rockford, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on October 22, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lottie Drabant and Frank Drabant; and her sisters, Dorothy Kozlowski (Walter) and Joan Krupicka (Joseph). She is survived by: her husband William Hartwig; her children, Angie Pagelow (David), Marc Mieszkowski (Teri), Joseph Mieszkowski (Sheree), William Hartwig Jr., Robert Hartwig (Christine), Valerie Steres (Scott) and Kathleen Hartwig; her grandchildren, Megan, Kristina Lampe (Joshua), Nicholas (Emily), Tyler, Caden, Nathaniel, Billy, Haley Mitchell (Kurt), Erin, Zoe, Ellen, Kyle (Lauren), Matthew (McKenzie), Eric (Haley) and Alyssa; her great grandchildren, Averie, Emma, Kinsley, Milo, Liam, Maxwell, Angel and Alex; her nieces, Kathleen Cheatham and Cynthia Kozlowski; and her friend Theresa Driscoll. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
