It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Beatrice Ann McGhee of Rockford, Illinois, born in Athens, Alabama, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Will Ollie and Lillie Smith; her husband Willie McGhee; and her sisters, Mildred Martin and Betty Allen.

She is survived by: her children, Kenneth McGhee (Rhonda), Kurt McGhee (LaShun) and Kassandra McGhee; her grandchildren, Brittany, Kirshaun, Brianna, Kendric and Brandon; her siblings, Ola Yarbrough, Will Smith, Mary Turner and Paulette Golston; her godchildren, Bridget Sims (Vernon), Amber Kidd (Christian), Beth Ann Beal, Graylin Bates (Yolonda) and Bethany Simmons (Artese); and her close friends, Bobbie Rigsby and Pam Bach. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, "adopted" children, and close family friends.
