He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Schultz and Marlene Schultz (Yach); and his sons, Dustin Michael and Spenser Alexander Schultz. He is survived by: his wife Liz Peterson; his children, Logan Schultz (Kelsey) of Gilbert, AZ and Hailey Bitner (Devin) of Rockford; his grandchildren, Camden, Olivia Schultz, Rowan and Liam Bitner; and his brother Mark Schultz (Diana).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Spring Creek United Church of Christ (4500 Spring Creek Rd, Rockford, IL 61114).
