She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Hoffecker and Kathryn Hoffecker (Zebley). She is survived by: her brother John (Donna); her niece Jennifer; her nephew Andrew; her family Brenda Benson Segura (Gail); Hilary, Megan Zust (Jonathan), Eleanor, Amelia and Henry.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Castle Town Center of Wesley Willows (4142 Johns Farm Rd, Rockford, IL 61101).
Nationally, the Carnegie Foundation named Carol the Delaware Professor of the year in 1999.
