With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Celina Krysztopa of Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on February 9, 2026 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wawrzyniec Krysztopa and Feliksa Krysztopa; her siblings, Zofia, Anna, Teresa, Józef, Władysław and Witold; her nephew John Michniewicz; and her niece Krystyna McMeen.
She is survived by: her caregiver Margaret Borowski (Anthony) of Machesney Park; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Dr. Teresa Borowski of Chicago, Peter Borowski (Christina) of Milwaukee, WI, Beata Brechlin (George) of Roscoe, Bridget Krysztopa of Chicago, Alexandra Krysztopa of Rockford, Aaron McMeen of Covington, KY and Christopher McMeen of Kirkland; Ted Krysztopa (Joni) of Rockford, Krzysztof Grochocki (Elżbieta) of Poland, Jan Krysztopa (Halina) of Poland and Dorota Andrylonis (Marian) of Poland. She is also survived by her family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Celina's honor will be established at the Ethnic Heritage Museum - Polish Gallery at a later date.
