It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David N. Akerlund of Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on March 14, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Akerlund and Florence Akerlund (Anderson); and his sister Debbie. He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Jeffery Akerlund of Richmond, CA, Jodie Wedige (Ray) of Belvidere, IL, Jill McBain (Wally Houck) of Rockford, IL, Jan Gwaltney (Don) of Rockford, IL, Julie Callaway (Cal) and Jeana Lane of Rockton, IL; and his siblings, Karen Adell of Roscoe, IL, Dan Akerlund (Sara) of Caledonia, IL and John Akerlund (Betty) of Roscoe, IL. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and relatives.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, Rockford Temple.
