He was predeceased by: his parents, James Prothero and Ruth Prothero (Forster); his wife Marilynn; his siblings, Michael, Catherine and Janna; and his nephew Gregory Holtfreter.
He is survived by: his children, Kyle Monk (Linda), Cindy Harrison (Robert), Daniel Prothero, Angela Link (Michael), Ginger Schwersenska (Milferd) and Betty Jean Monk; his grandchildren, Joseph Monk (Crystal), Justin Moser, Michelle Monk, Britt Moser, Breanne Prothero, Devon Hale and Nickolas Prothero; and his nephews, James Prothero (Katrina) and Mark Holtfreter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (2011 S 4th St, DeKalb, IL 60115).
