He is survived by: his wife Diana Sanford; his children, Jennifer McCarthy (Shawn), David Sanford and Justin Sanford; his granddaughter Elaina Kapala (Robbie); and his siblings, Kirt Sanford (Cathy), Johnny Sanford (Lisa), Diana Hawkinson (Dave), Mary Edlen (Phil) and Penny Lindquist.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Faith Wesleyan Church (6031 Harrison Ave, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
