He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Bauer and Ida Bauer (Moyer); his daughter Debbie Hagedorn; his siblings, Leonard, Kenny, Clyde, Helen and Beverly; and his son-in-law Jim Van Duyn.

He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Scott Bauer (Nikki), Kevin Bauer (Kelly) and Robin Van Duyn; his stepchildren, Chris Williams (Kathryn) and Beth Parker; his grandchildren, Tammy Bauer, Ben, Brittany Bauer, Jason Van Duyn, Niki Jarvis (Donny), Joe Van Duyn, Kory Vaught, Kaleighann, Kaden Williams, Jared, Zachary Parker, Tracy Pixler (Jason) and Christy Stoltz; his siblings, Billy Bauer, Evelyn Nelson, Sandra Zidarich, Carol Goral (Dan), Dee Grevan (Jim) and Ethel Bauer; and his friend Carl Paulson. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
