With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frank L. Kalen of Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on September 19, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his former wife Judith Kalen; his daughter April Ousley; his stepdaughter Amber Turner; and his parents, Peter Kalen and Barbara Kalen.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Kalen; his children, Peter Kalen Sr., Penny Nuelle and Jennifer Watson; his stepsons, Lyle Jurmu (Kelly) and Keith Jurmu; his grandchildren, Peter Kalen Jr., Alex Kalen, Jeffrey Watson Jr., Jeremy Watson, Kenneth Volkert, Dakota Ousley, Sara Nuelle, Robert Johnson (Lynette), Dontae Turner, Kendra Turner, Kaydee Turner, Braydon Turner, Amanda and Heather; and his siblings, Pam Sommerfield and Mickey Kalen (Val).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his family.
