He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gutshall and Catherine Gutshall; his former wife Karen Gutshall; and his pet Tippy. He is survived by: his wife Linda Smalley Gutshall; his stepchildren, Mary (Mike Copeland), Angela (Karen Taylor), Tammy (Jesse Smalley) and Adam (Paige Taylor); and his siblings, Charles Gutshall of Arkansas and Barbara Cardott of Illinois. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Gary's name.
