He is survived by: his wife Patti Matus; his son James William Matus; his daughter-in-law Sarah Matus; his grandson Andrew James Matus of Staunton, Virginia; his daughter Elizabeth Kathleen Dees; his son-in-law Lawson Dees; his granddaughter Lola Belle Dees of El Segundo, California; and his brothers, Terry Matus (Vickie) of Cape Coral, Mike Matus (Jeanne) of Caledonia, Tony Matus (Colleen) of Machesney Park and Bill Matus (Denise) of Valencia, Spain. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
