George Patrick Gendron Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 4, 2025, at the age of 92, George Patrick Gendron of Rockford, Illinois, born in San Francisco, California passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Gendron and Mary Patrick; his daughter Karen Shafer; and his brother Jerry Gendron. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cantarano; his children, Paul (Michele), Pat (Sherri), Tom (Traci), Larry (Margie), Maureen Maguire (Jim) and Dennis (Trina); his son-in-law Gael Shafer (Peggy); and his sister MaryAnne Brower (Jim). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A prayer will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (4401 Highcrest Rd, Rockford, IL 61107).
