Gloria will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Pearson and Hildur Pearson; and her brother Darrel Pearson. She is survived by: her husband Norman Akelaitis of Savior's Lutheran Church; her sons, John and Bradley Akelaitis (Gigi); and her grandsons, Christopher and Michael.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (2821 N Bell School Rd, Rockford, IL 61107).
