He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Lashinsky and Mary Lashinsky; and his brother Martin Lash. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Lash; his sons, Jeff Lash (Paula) and Mike Lash (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Ivy Lash (Jetha Chan) and Ben Lash.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 3:15 PM to 3:45 PM at the Rockford Hebrew Cemetery (819 Cottage Grove Ave, Rockford, IL 61103).
Herb served as the president of the SIDS Association, as well as the American Lung Association throughout his career.
