He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Sowl and Ethel Sowl (McCartney); and his parents-in-law, Bill and Edith Applequist. He is survived by: his wife Judy Kay Sowl (Applequist); his children, Kim Anderson (Paul) of Cherry Valley, IL and Chuck Sowl (Chris) of Wheaton, IL; his grandchildren, Chris Anderson (Audrey) of Rockford, IL, Matt Anderson (Karly) of Woodbury, MN, Ethan of Wheaton, IL, Tyler of Wheaton, IL and Erin Sowl of Wheaton, IL; his great grandchildren, Ella and Poppy Anderson; his siblings, Jana Miller (late Larry), Julie Bower (Garry) and Jeff Sowl; and his caregiver Janice. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family, to be shared with Serenity Hospice & Home and St. Mark Lutheran Church.
