James Arthur Brown Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 28, 2025, at the age of 75, James Arthur Brown of Rockford, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Brown and Beatrice Brown; his sons, Paris Buford and Marico Satterwhite; and his grandson James Leslie Harkins.
He is survived by: his close friend Veronica Gray; his children, Anthony Walker (Sandra), Carandus Brown, Felicia Brown, Shiquitta Harkins (James), Treva Jennings (Eldra) and Miracle Brown; his sisters, Louise Brown (Hooker) and Eva Parks; and his nieces, Lanita Marks and Timea Sledge. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church (2919 19th St, Rockford, IL 61109). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
