He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Howell and Diasy Howell; his daughter Rachel Woodard; and his siblings, Betty Martin and Bruce Howell.
He is survived by: his children, Idella Smith (Brandon), Whitney Howell, Anthony Mitchell (Jill) and James Howell II; and his siblings, Marilyn Williams, Sheryl Tyler and Alva Howell. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends.
