James left this world on December 10, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle L. Burger and Ruth I. Moody; his children, Merle and Cibby; and his brother Jack Burger.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Burger; his children, Pam, Carol, Michael and Sheena; his stepchildren, Keith, Kristy and Kirk; his brothers, Neil and Bill Burgers; and his pet Tucker. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Berean Baptist Church (5626 Safford Rd, Rockford, IL 61101). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Willwood Burial Park (7000 W State St, Rockford, IL 61102).
