We are sad to announce that on October 17, 2022, at the age of 86, James K. Buchanan in Rockford, Illinois, born in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James D. Buchanan and Mary Helen King Buchanan; and his sister-in-law Mary Michelle Hampton. He is survived by: his wife Judy Buchanan (Hampton); his children, Jim (Julie Buchanan), Kelly (Tim Sharp), Tony Buchanan of Parker, Christine (Tom Dotson) and Anne Buchanan (Tim Fray); his grandchildren, Amber Marcussen (Kyle), Rusty Sharp, Zach Buchanan (Getchen), Ben Buchanan Abigail Buchanan (Alexa Cross), Hanna Marks (Parker Shorey), Alison Marks, Samantha Doston (Ryan Carlson) and Eliot Dotson; his great grandchildren, Briar Marcussen and Adeline Buchanan; and his sisters, Barbara Mennel and Madonna Buchanan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Holy Family Parish of Rockford and Northern Illinois Hospice.
