It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan McDermaid of Rockford, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois, who passed away on November 16, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Winfred E. Gushart and Frances M. Gushart (Hartman); her husband Clarence McDermaid; and her sister Mary Best (Don). She is survived by: her children, Martha Clinton, Chris Maimon and Currie Maimon; and her grandchildren, Heather Timkin, Cynthia Stewart, Jessica Stewart and Brandon Clinton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
