She was predeceased by: her parents, Thure Salgren and Mary Salgren (Schlie); her sister Patricia Turrentine; her siblings-in-law, Gordon "Gordy", Betty Sand of Rockford and Karin Fyhrlund; and her nieces, Renee of Minnesota and Amy Fyhrlund of Minnesota.

She is survived by: her children, Gerald "Gerry" Sand, Barbara and Brenda Sand (Darla Moriarty); her close friend Penny White of Rockford; her brother-in-law Richard "Rick" Fyhrlund; her niece Kerry Taylor (Timothy); and her nephew Bradley Turrentine.

Volunteered at Northern Illinois Hospice for many years until Covid arrived and shut everything down.
