He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Lester and Isabella Lester (Einhorn); his stepfather Lory Manni; his wife Sylvia A. Snider; his son Mark Allen Lester; and his siblings, Ronald Lester, Pat Brackett and Gloria Dermer.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Wood (Jim), Jim Lester (Cheryl) and Rob Lester; his grandchildren, Stephanie Eller (Brad), Liz Miller (Bryan), Lexie Phillips (Nate), Tom Lester (Kala), Dan Lester, Zac Lester (Kristin) and Eric Lester; his great grandchildren, Cody, Nolan, Christopher, Alexander, Philip and Magnolia; his sister Adabelle Scarpitto; his stepbrother Phil Manni (Kathy); and his brother-in-law Chuck Garlock (Darla). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Northern Illinois Hospice, Vets Roll or Wesley Willows Good Samaritan Fund.
