It is with sadness that the passing of Leona J. Hill of Rockford, Illinois is shared. Leona, born on March 8, 1927 in Viroqua, Wisconsin, passed away on October 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her significant other Herbert "Loren" Miller; her parent Florence; her daughter Joyce McNeal; and her siblings, Troy, Marlin and Charlotte.
She is survived by: her daughter Janice Austin; her grandchildren, Mike McNeal (Lora), Terry Stupka (Randy), Dawn Eisenhauer (John), Dave McNeal, Bryan Austin (Jen), Steve Austin (Annette), Lorie Miller, Jeremy and Jason Miller; her great grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Connor, Maxwell, Taylor, Shane, Marcus, Kevin, Collin and Tristen; and her great great grandchildren, Sophia, Aliyah, Braden, Jameson, Landon and Addie.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115).
