We bid farewell to Loretto May Peterson of Rockford, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 21, 2025 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas J. Reynolds and Marie Ellen Reynolds (Hennessey); and her brothers, Thomas J. Jr. and Edward Reynolds. She is survived by: her husband William C. Peterson; her children, Marie I. Kodadek (John) of Herndon, VA, Anthony R. Peterson of Machesney Park, IL, Timothy J. Peterson of Santa Rosa, CA, Lucille A. Pixler (John) of Winnebago, IL, Christopher L. Peterson (JoAnne Bonavia) of Rockford, Terrence W. Peterson of Rockton, IL, Kevin C. Peterson (Judith) of Memphis, TN, James E. Peterson (Maribeth) of Rockford and Helen K. Peterson of Rockford; her grandchildren, Jonathan (Stasia), Kevin Kodadek, Christine Schrom (Joseph), Andrea Kutz (Daniel), Matthew (Nicole), Benjamin, William, Robert Pixler, Marissa (Dave Lyons), Jack Pilcher (Casey), Ryenn Andreassi (Kevin), Mary, Michael, Logan, Sean (Heather), Caurie, Zachary Peterson and Jeremy Goodson (Marta); and her great grandchildren, Colette, Caden, Mackenzie, Lucas Kodadek, Jordan, Molly Schrom, Kimber, Barrett Kutz, Alannah, Gavin, Noah Pixler, Adelaide Lyons, Anna, Reid Pilcher, Dominico, Luca, Violette, Caris Peterson and Aiden Goodson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Cathedral of St. Peter (1243 N Church St, Rockford, IL 61103).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
