She was predeceased by: her parents, George Sorensen and Florence Sorensen (Siedsma); her brothers, Jens and Ernest Sorensen; her daughter Kristine Ellen; and her aunt Ellen Dagel of Sanborn, Iowa..

She is survived by: her daughter Susan Ortiz (Erwin "Alex") of Mountain Lake; her grandsons, Joseph and Kelvin; her son Michael Larson (Christina) of Hartley; her grandchildren, Anthony, Meghan, Brenden and Travis; her daughter Janie Baird (James Lenz) of Milford; her grandchildren, Hunter and Foster; Quinn and Adelaide "Jean".

Even after clocking out at the end of her regular shift, you could usually find her singing to the residents in the Alzheimer's Unit.
