She was predeceased by: her parents, Max H. Kirschbaum and Florence Kirschbaum (Galbraith); and her niece Michele Thorn. She is survived by: her husband Michael Lenker; her sons, Tom and Matt Grimes; her sister Harriet Retzke; and her sister-in-law Kris Lenker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Maxine's name to St. Rita Catholic Church in Rockford or St. Peter Catholic Church in South Beloit.
