He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Oliver and Gladys V. Nelson (Josephson); and his brother-in-law Bengt Carlstrand. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo; his daughters, Sarah O'Keefe (Dennis) and Stephanie Pentney (Alex); his grandchildren, Lucas Alexander and Ella Rose Pentney; his daughters, Stacey and Cubby O'Keefe; his sisters, Lyn Bianchi (Ronald) and Susan Carlstrand; and his cousin Stephen Nelson (Suzanne Engle). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory - Mulford (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108).
