He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Masters and Bessie Masters (Kirk); and his siblings, Ernest Masters, Evelyn Suski, Albert Masters, Mildred Johnson and Raymond Masters.

He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his children, Roberta Smith, Charles Masters and Daniel Masters (Anna); his grandchildren, Robert James Smith (Caroline), Brian Smith, Jason Smith, Natalia Masters and Nicholas Masters; his great grandchildren, Adelaide Smith (Harry), Aidan Smith, Aidric Smith and Tristian Smith; his siblings, David Masters, Beverly Visgar (Kim) and Carol Thompkins; his close friend Pam Northrup; and his pet Susan Sunshine. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
