He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Phillips and Janice Phillips; his siblings, Judy Hillis and Michael Phillips; and his brothers-in-law, Chuck Murphy and Norman Beck.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Kjenner; his children, Trisha Anderson (Brian) and David Phillips (Amy); his stepchildren, Kimberly Graham (Jon), Deborah Kjenner and Steven Kjenner (Pam); his sister Elaine Voiles; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Murphy, Nancy Kurzinski (Terry) and Linda Phillips. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Calvary Christian Church (5455 Charles St, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Rockford Rescue Mission or to the Vietnam Honors Society.
