With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon L. Nelson in Rockford, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 24, 2024 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Sharon's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Sharon has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her father Donald Helmer; her brother Wayne Helmer; and her granddaughter Matilda Gentzel. She is survived by: her husband Allan Nelson; her children, Katrena Nelson (Matt Angell) and Brent Nelson (Susan); her granddaughters, Madalyn Gentzel, Katie Nelson and Kelly Nelson; her sisters, Barbara Head and Connie Hickey; and her mother Blanch Helmer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
