It is with sadness that the passing of Sonja Joyce Beach (Rockford, Illinois) is shared. Sonja, born on August 1, 1940, passed away on October 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Carlson and Rose Carlson (Lundquist); her grandmother Anna Lundquist; her sister Diane Bertrand; and her nephew Chad Bertrand.
She is survived by: her children, Sonja and Frank; her husband Frank; her daughters, Lori Beach-Grass (Jim Grass) and Jodi Beach (Jim McDowell); her granddaughters, Chelsea Rose Tomaino (Michael) and Chloe Yates; her great grandchildren, Chandler Davis and Linden Yates; her niece Heather Bergstedt (Mark); and her sisters-in-law, Charlene and Laura Uptegrove.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Salvation Army Rockford Temple (500 S Rockford Ave, Rockford, IL 61104). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
