It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sonya Lea Rice of Rockford, Illinois, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on March 19, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Morning and Mary Morning (Postel); her husband Hal; and her siblings, Elizabeth DeWoody, Carleta Herzberger and John Morning.
She is survived by: her children, Tamika Morie, Teri Walk (Gayle), Traci Reed, Toni Koloch (Brad) and Hal Rice; and her siblings, Stanley "Buck" Morning, JoAnn McBain and Carl "Buzz" Morning (Nancy). She is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren.
In her honor, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Cedarhurst of Rockford Senior Living Community.
