It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vaughan Q. Gilmore of Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Vaughan's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May Vaughan's journey be filled with peace and serenity, and may he find rest in the embrace of eternity.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roosevelt Gilmore and Hortense Gilmore; and his brother Selton Gilmore. He is survived by: his wife Savannah Gilmore; his children, Kerry Dozier (Diane), Brandi Gilmore, Taylor Fletcher (Floyd), Brenton Norris and Antonio Williams; and his brother Roosevelt Gilmore (Karen). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Macedonia Baptist Church (1720 Morgan St, Rockford, IL 61102). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
