It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne K. Thoren in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Wayne K. Thoren to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melville Thoren and Esther Thoren (Stoltz); his wife Monie; and his brother Howard Thoren. He is survived by: his children, Steven (Tanya), Christopher (Debbie), Laura Johnson (Troy) and Jim Thoren (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Ben (Ioana), Thomas (Avani), Sarah, Brian (Megan), Elizabeth, Jackie, Lindsey, Zachary (Danielle) and Ashley. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory - Mulford (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Melugin Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
