She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Sr. Simmons and Elsie Simmons; her husband Michael Boyd; and her stepfather Robert Larkin. She is survived by: her siblings, Walter Simmons (Susan), Sam Jr. Simmons (Barbara), Terrence Simmons (Lisa), Christopher Simmons, H. Michele Waite, Monica Robinson, Cynthia Simmons (Michael Brown), Ramona Simmons and Cordelia Barker; her goddaughter Tamika Phelps; and her sister Kotolisa "Peppi" Cadallero. She is also survived by nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. (200 N Johnston Ave, Rockford, IL 61101). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
