He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Nightingale; his sons, Alex Nightingale (Melody) of Janesville, WI and Adam Nightingale (Daniel Davis) of Janesville, WI; his stepchildren, Jonnie Allen of Hammon, IN and Sharekia Mosley-Tanner (Lurenzo) of Beloit, WI; and his siblings, John Nightingale, Mark Nightingale (Kim), Thomas Nightingale (Karen), Mary Garvin, Nancy Gillespie (Robert), Sally Schroeder (Donald), Marcy Nightingale (Tom Cooper), Kristina Nightingale and Jeana Nightingale. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
