He was predeceased by: his parents, E. Irving Wells and Ruth Cowhick Wells; his former wife Joyce E. Haney; his wife Janet Carole Ward; his daughter Cindy; his grandson Dewayne Wells; and his siblings, Glenn Wells, David Wells, Leonard Wells, Ruby Mae Dyer, Carole Crotchett, Wilbur "Ray" Wells, Don Wells and Opal Neff.
He is survived by: his children, Don Wells (Evelyn), Connie Crow (Jim), Paul Wells, Jim Wells (Becky) and Gary Wells (Debbie); his stepsons, Craig Tyson (Nancy), Mark Tyson (Kim) and Brian Tyson (Stephanie); and his siblings, Ned Wells (Mary) and Polly Lincoln (Jerry). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Daws Family Funeral Home - Roodhouse (202 W Franklin St, Roodhouse, IL 62082). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the North Greene Food Pantry or Roodhouse Public Library.
