She was predeceased by: her parents, Artilus Merritt and Vera Merritt; her husband Stanley Fudge; her children, LaDeta Merritt-Layne and Antonio Merritt; and her sister Debra "Peaches" Merritt.
She is survived by: her children, April Cauthen (Reginald), Arthur Merritt, Terrance Merritt and Napolean Trammell III; her siblings, Ricky Merrit (Bridgett), Steven Turner, Joey Turner, Artilus Turner Jr. and Karolyn Turner; and her close friends, Constance Strudivant and Daphanie Simon. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. (200 N Johnston Ave, Rockford, IL 61101). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
