He was predeceased by : his daughter Sarah; his brother Michael; and his parents, Roland Powell and Helen Powell (MacDonald). He is survived by : his wife Sanda; his son Adam of Elgin; and his siblings, Lisa Gossart of Alexandria, VA, Mary Meng of Rockville, MD and Tom of Leland, NC..

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Church, Rockford.
