She is survived by: her daughter Janice Swirles (late Ernest); her grandchildren, Kevin Stevenson, Christopher Swirles, Jeannine Garriepy, Diane Cardona, Gary Stevenson, Nancy Skryzpiec and Daniel Lites; her nieces and nephews, Richard Hussar (Alvin) and Glenn Hussar (Christine); and her pet Mimi.

“Shirley has been a part of my life since I was born. My Mother, her aunt (Aunt Abby, who was Joseph Griffiths sister) were always close. They even sounded alike. When I was young I used to beg my mother to call Shirley so she could bring her baby over. At the many family gatherings there was laughter and fun even when times were hard. She, Red and Elaine and their families had a loving bond with my Mom and Dad. Shirley's mind and sense of humor were so sharp when we talked on the phone. Carole Q”
