He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Earl and Dolores Kay Cannon Brown; and his friends, Greg Wilson, Pete Lashbrook and Mike Knott.
He is survived by: his wife Shelia Bishop; his children, Jessi Prentice (Ryan) of Springfield, Megan Guntle (Dustin) of Oreana and Jason Brown (Tiffany Krohe) of Beardstown; his grandchildren, Kelsi Burton, Wyatt Guntle, Makenna Guntle and Oliver Guntle; and his siblings, Denise Renee Wilson (Bill) of Galesburg, Donald Jason Brown of Rushville, David Clayton Brown of Rushville and Dale Andrew Brown (Lisa) of Rushville.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Colwell Memorial (515 S State St, Beardstown, IL 62618). After being laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic, Matt took the opportunity to begin a new chapter in life and enjoy his retirement.
