He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Gruebner and Dorthea Gruebner; and his sister Karen Meininger. He is survived by: his wife Joan Gruebner; his children, Diane Murphy (Joel) of Bloomington, IL, Donna Williams (John) of Sigourney, IA and David Gruebner (Lisa) of Honolulu, HI.; his grandchildren, Jared Murphy (Samantha), Jason Murphy (Katie), Jaclyn Murphy, Brian Chandler (Nicole), Stacy Hagen (Chase), Sean Gruebner and Todd Gruebner; his great grandchildren, Keira, Brayden, Raelyn, Cooper, Wyatt, Elise and Henry; and his brother Bruce Gruebner (Sandy).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or St. Mark's Lutheran Church in St. Charles, IL.
