She was predeceased by: her parents, Gunnar Anderson and Astrid Anderson; her husband David Brian Nelson; and her great grandchildren, Ben and George Hochman.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Nelson (Sherri) of St. Charles, Jane Reardon (Tom) of Three Rivers, MI and Jill Bonner (Darryl) of Oxford, MI; her brothers, Harold Anderson (Gloria) of Oklahoma City, Gunner Anderson (Sandi) of Oklahoma City and Richard Anderson (Nancy) of Phoenix; and her grandchildren, Erik Nelson (Maureen Hochman), Kirk Nelson (Rosie), Hannah Konwinski (Kyle), Michael Reardon, Victoria, Herrmann and Christopher Baksi. She is also survived by her family, friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the The Holmstad (700 W Fabyan Pkwy, Batavia, IL 60510).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in recognition of Viola's many years of dedicated service and generosity.
