We are sad to announce that on April 26, 2025, at the age of 77, Dorothea E. Buchanan of Saint Jacob, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward A. Summers and Gertrude M. Summers; her siblings, Edward, Marie (Wayne) and Roberta; her sister-in-law Shirley (Phil); and her in-laws, James Sr. and Mary Buchanan.
She is survived by: her friend Judy; her husband James Buchanan Jr.; her children, Rebecca (Arthur), Jennifer (Ray) and Scott (Sandra); her grandchildren, Logan, Mia (Monroe), Nathan, Natalie, Lara, Aston, Morgan and Valentino; her great grandchild Lyla; her brother Jim (Laura); her sister-in-law Flo; and her pet Dori Violet. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Aebischer-Richeson Funeral Home (211 N Douglas St, St Jacob, IL 62281). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
